Meet your Guildford Team
Leading our Guildford office is Chris Dean, one of the founding directors of Chantries & Pewleys. Originally from Cornwall, Chris began his estate agency career by the coast before relocating to Guildford in 1998. Fast forward 25 years, and he’s now one of the most experienced and knowledgeable agents in the area — with a deep understanding of the town’s ever-evolving market and its many micro-communities.
Chris oversees all sales across the town centre and Onslow Village. Whether you’re selling a character cottage, a riverside apartment, or a family home in catchment, Chris’s insight and instinct ensure the right buyer is found — at the right price.
While he used to spend his weekends golfing, training, or escaping back to the Cornish coast, these days Chris is more likely to be found navigating the chaos of soft play or attempting to drink a hot cup of coffee while wrangling two small children.
Supporting Chris is our brilliant Guildford sales team — professional, approachable, and passionate about delivering standout results with a personal touch.
Pippa Barnes
Pippa first arrived in Guildford back in 1993 to study Russian and European Studies at the University of Surrey — and never left. Over the years, she’s built a deep connection to the town and its surrounding villages, with a property career that spans more than two decades across both Guildford and Cranleigh.
Having seen the market evolve and the town grow, Pippa’s passion for helping people move hasn’t changed a bit. Whether she’s guiding downsizers, growing families, or first-time buyers, she brings warmth, patience, and a genuine love for the process.
When she’s not at work, Pippa is usually busy being a mum to two teenagers, hosting friends for one of her famous home-cooked meals, or out walking Lola through the Chantries and across the Surrey Hills — a view she swears never gets old.
Sophie Major
With a background in fashion retail and a passion for people, Sophie made the move into estate agency back in 2014 — and she hasn’t looked back. Since then, she’s successfully sold homes across every corner of the market, from sleek town centre apartments to spacious family homes in Guildford, Esher and Weybridge.
Sophie’s approach is all about creating a smooth, stress-free experience from start to finish — guiding buyers and sellers through every step with clarity, calm, and a touch of humour when it’s needed most. She genuinely enjoys the journey with her clients, from first viewing to final handover.
Now living locally in Guildford, Sophie can usually be found in the gym, out walking her dog Luna, or browsing Skyscanner for her next sunshine escape.
Iwan Hall
Born and raised in Onslow Village, Iwan brings genuine local insight — not just of the streets and schools, but the people who make Guildford what it is. Since joining in 2020, he’s become a trusted, familiar face known for his energy, honesty, and love for the job.
Whether guiding first-time buyers or chatting with locals about the market, Iwan’s approach is rooted in trust, great service, and real connection. Outside work, he’s happiest with a pint in hand, trackside at a BTCC race, or off exploring the Welsh mountains.
Selling locally?
This isn’t just where we work — it’s home turf. We know the walking routes buyers love, the best coffee spots they ask about, and which homes catch the evening light just right. That level of local insight can’t be copied, and it makes a real difference when it comes to positioning, marketing, and ultimately achieving the best result for your home.
